Best Buddies is a club that creates opportunities for Payton students with and without Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities to form friendships. There are different levels of involvement in the club: pod member, pod leader, peer, and buddy.
Pod Members get to come to the club enrichments every Friday to build friendships and participate in fun activities with the students of 146. There are not any required outside of school time commitments. This is a great level for people who just want to have fun in school!
Pod Leaders communicate important club information to their pods. This is a small outside of school time commitment, and is a great way to get further involved in the club!
Peers are matched in a one-to-one friendship with a student from room 146. This is definitely an outside of school time commitment, but is an amazing way to get more involved and build a fully one on one friendship! When you register on bb360, make sure to indicate you would be interested in being matched in a one-on-one friendship.
Make sure to register on bb360 (link in bio) to be a part of the club and applications for pod leaders will be sent out once everyone has registered!
